Hitkarini Law College, a unit of Hitkarini Sabha, began on 1st June 1933. Located in Jonesganj, Jabalpur, it holds the distinction of being the oldest law college in Madhya Pradesh. Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya (R.D.V.V.) currently affiliates it, and both the State Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh and the Bar Council of India recognize it.
Since its inception, Hitkarini Law College (HLC) has changed affiliations several times. In 1933, it affiliated with Nagpur University, later moved to Sagar University, then to Jabalpur University, and now continues under Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur.
The State Bar Council of India permanently recognizes the law degree offered by the college. The National Accreditation Council, Bangalore, has accredited Hitkarini Law College with a ‘B’ grade, recognizing it as the oldest law college in Madhya Pradesh.
The college consistently fosters in its students a broad perspective, along with academic excellence and reflective thinking, all while keeping national and humanitarian goals in mind.
Today, the legal profession in India offers high rewards, which increases the demand for legal education. Law students today are well-informed and often choose their career paths even before graduating. At Hitkarini Law College, we guide students to decide whether they wish to pursue litigation, enter corporate practice, join a company, or go abroad for further studies and international opportunities. After the software and BPO revolutions, the stage is now set for a boom in legal and financial BPO sectors. Therefore, we strive to train more legal professionals in India and support students in achieving their career goals.
